S5E126 Reclaiming Healthy and Beautiful Intimacy After Abuse with Monica Ballard
Saturday Aug 12, 2023
Saturday Aug 12, 2023
As I sat across from Monica Ballard, a relationship and intimacy coach, her story of resilience and determination left me both inspired and deeply moved. Her life echoed with the struggles of growing up amidst addiction, getting married at a young age, and later navigating the challenging waters of a progressively abusive relationship with an older partner. Yet, through it all, Monica found strength in her journey, using her experiences to fuel her work as a coach, empowering women to break the cycle of abuse and build fulfilling relationships.
Drawing upon my own experiences, I shared my journey of co-parenting after escaping an abusive relationship. The struggles of navigating welfare, negotiating custodial agreements, and facing the possibility of losing full custody of my son were by no means easy. Yet, the transformational process of healing from past neglect and abuse, reprogramming both my physical body and my expectations, has been instrumental in breaking my own cycle of seeking toxic partnerships. It's a healing that echoes not just in my life, but in the legacy I pass on to my ancestors and future generations.
Monica and I also explore the intricate process of reclaiming intimacy after abuse. From forming meaningful connections with supportive individuals to learning about setting healthy boundaries and meeting our own needs in relationships, Monica provides valuable insights. Her wisdom is a testament to the transformative power of healing, serving as a beacon of hope and inspiration for anyone on a journey towards healthier relationships. Join us for this heartwarming conversation – a testament to the strength of the human spirit and the transformative power of healing.
Who is Monica Ballard professionally?
Monica specializes in helping successful, ambitious women to heal past trauma & wounds that are holding them back from experiencing the connected relationship & intimacy they desire now, so they can create the safe, committed, loving partnership they want (with a current partner or a new aligned partner), have the most mind-blowing, life-changing sex of their lives, and feel beautiful and free in their own skin.
Her work uses a whole-woman approach and is a holistic combination of inner transformational & spiritual work & practices, body-based somatic work & practices, and supportive daily lifestyle habits.
She also is a facilitator & ambassador(c) of the Embodied Psychosexual Method. Embodied PsychoSexual Method (EPSM) is the understanding of sexual sovereignty through the psychological and somatic connection each individual has with their sexuality. The methodology uses mindfulness, self-awareness, breath, meditation, movement, and erotic activation to enhance desire, transform imbalances, rebuild trust, and re-patterning cellular memory.
